What Came First in the Origin of Life? New Study Contradicts the ‘Metabolism First’ Hypothesis

A new study published in Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences rejects the theory that the origin of life stems from a system of self-catalytic molecules capable of experiencing Darwinian evolution without the need of RNA or DNA and their replication. The research has demonstrated that, through the analysis of what some researchers name “compound genomes,” these chemical networks cannot be considered evolutionary units because they lose properties which are essential for evolution when they reach a critical size and greater level of complexity.

Tilberian, yes, I know exactly what you mean!  I feel the same way about space exploration and SETI!  It’s great to live in these times, isn’t it?

Something cannot come from nothingness; simple physics should tell us that but it does not because the intellect can be overwhelmed by the paradigm effect which reveals itself as materialism that creates a system of beliefs known as scientism which has its home in intellectualism.

Likewise on the other side of the fence most believe that this infinite something they call God created humans and these created entities believe they can be separate from this something that they have defined as an infinite all and all.

So which has greater ignorance the materialist that believes that all matter in the universe was contained in the size of a pinhead then kaboom a universe of matter was created or the religious that has created a God in their image that is separate from them that demands human sacrifice for atonement for creating them in their image.

Or the arrogance of a person that writes about the materialists and the religious? Ignorance abounds not as some fallen aspect of consciousness but as a necessity for consciousness to exist. Few will understand these words about consciousness, very few if any.

Then we have awareness: being aware of being aware. The religious believe that ancient authority has told them what they need to know about consciousness and awareness and the materialists believes the future (real soon) will reveal to them how materialism creates both consciousness and awareness.

In the meantime the materialist and the religious teach their beliefs as undeniable fact neither side giving an inch or is it a millimeter. Actually the religious can give an inch but the materialist has no inch to give, as their slope is steep and slippery. One unexplained phenomena for the materialist and the slippery slide begins with no end in sight.
