I can fully relate to the article. Being Black, and not being a Christian or Muslim (let alone not believing in god at all) is extremely taboo. religion has played such a vital role in the struggle that black people have gone through in the US. Many, if not most of the Civil Rights leaders were preachers or at least heavily involved way the church. Being black and stating that you do know believe in god is like coming out of the closet to an evangelical family
