Republican state senator in Texas introduces a bill that bans “discrimination” against faculty members who believe in Intelligent Design:

> An institution of higher education may not discriminate against or
> penalize in any manner, especially with regard to employment or
> academic support, a faculty member or student based on the faculty
> member’s or student’s conduct of research relating to the theory of
> intelligent design or other alternate theories of the origination
> and development of organisms.

The comments above are arrogant, bigoted, stupid and lacking in reason.  All three of you should be ashamed of posting such drivel on a website dedictated to reason!

The first two are fine. Tilberian is making a tongue-in-cheek Tolkien reference pointing out that intelligent design has about the same amount of factual credibility. Holocaust denial is used as an example of people who have effectively disqualified themselves from informed debate, in that their view of history is extremely disconnected from facts.

ZF - but the tongue-in-cheek is absurd.  As is the Holocaust denial.  I imagine few of he above have honestly read the many papers presented by the creation science or even the intelligent design community.  If they had, they would have provided more intellectually honest criticism.
