Stockholm blasts: Sweden probes ‘terrorist attack’

The e-mails, with MP3 audio files in Swedish and Arabic, were sent to the Swedish security service and the TT news agency.

They called for “mujahideen” - or Islamist fighters - to rise up in Sweden and Europe, promising Swedes would “die like our brothers and sisters”.

They also attacked the country for caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad drawn by Swedish artist Lars Vilks.

“The mail was about one man,” police spokesman Ulf Goranzon told a press conference on Sunday.

“He was not satisfied with developments in Sweden regarding [the fact] that we have military troops in other countries, that there had been protests and that there have been said bad things about the Prophet [Muhammad].”

This is so scary and insane. I live in central Stockholm and heard about this when I was at a party last night. My parents had been in that area just an hour or two before it happened. The “religion of peace” is on the march it seems…

Scandinavia is a sanctuary of rationalism and secularism.  It’s too bad that even they are getting sucked into this mess caused by religion.

According to the New York Times, the suspect’s profile on a Muslim dating site says:

“I am married since 2004,” he said on his dating profile, according to a translation of the original Arabic. He described himself as “very religious” and said that he had two daughters, aged three and one. “I want to get married again,” he said, “and would like to have a BIG family. My wife agreed to this. I am looking for a practicing Muslim, Sunni, who loves children and wants to please Allah before me,” he said. “I am looking mostly for religion.”
