‘South Park’ creators warned: Poking fun at Muhammed could invite deadly Muslim rage

The creators of “South Park” better watch their backs.

That’s what a radical Islamic group based in Queens “warned” on their Web site, RevolutionMuslim.com, using violent imagery to express their anger over the depiction of the Prophet Muhammed - hidden in a bear suit - on the 200th episode of the long-running Comedy Central series.

“We have to warn Matt [Stone] and Trey [Parker] that what they are doing is stupid,” a posting on the Web site stated on Tuesday, according to reports.

Keep on doing what you are doing.  Someone has to continue to show that humor and satire are long-time acceptable methods of critique of the vicissitudes of our culture, some of which need not only questioning, but refutation.

Thanks to Project Reason for puting this up. It seems to me we’ve got an opportunity to do this right this time, and not leave these guys “out to dry”. Link the vids everywhere!

Sam and the creators of South Park all have a great deal of courage—which is obviously expressed in different ways. Personally, I’d pay big bucks to support a HARD CORE PORN that featured Mohammed as the lead ‘talent.’ (Note to self: Call HBO.) One of the most effective ways of being intolerant of dangerous intolerance is through laughter—the more irreverent, the better.

I very much like Ayaan’s idea; we need to overwhelm the media, and threfore Islam, with this. Start portraying, people!!!

it’s ridiculous and very telling that Comedy Central has been ok with South Park poking fun at Christians, Jews, atheists, Scientologists, gays, etc, etc, with the single exception of Muslims.  If that doesn’t prove that Islam is the problem, I don’t know what does.

Funny how so many political liberals turn a blind eye to Muslim hate crime stuff. As Sam Harris has articulated, its moral relativism at work.

The print and television media along with the entertainment industry should have a special day where everyone criticizes the heck out of the Muslim faith.  Hundreds of images of their “prophet” should be posted and there should be a flood of reasoned skepticism about Islam and its teachings.

If this could be done, than everyone would be reasonably safe and the radical fanatics and their supporters would no longer have a strangle hold on our freedom of expression
