If gender separation on buses will be required by religious custom, I think we may confidently guess a priori that the maximum inconvenience will be visited upon the female. From a civil rights point of view, reversing the seating would not improve matters, but I wonder if anyone would care quite so much if the men making the rules were benign enough to do the extra walking to the back seats. But that would possibly be contrary to the whole point.

NB: I wonder if women are allowed to ride at all during their menses, or maybe they have a short bus trailing behind for those so “afflicted”. You know how dangerously unclean they are then.

I am constantly astounded at the persistence of ignorant people who insist on inflicting their misogynistic views on others. Reasoning is not taught at school and indeed most parents have no idea how to go about it. Early education is the perfect area to begin to apply the skills of reason. In the USA early education is governed by local social misfits, religious and otherwise, who pump their superstitious codswallop into innocent brains; this must cease! This report illustrates one of the outcomes of this stupidity.
