Hitch has attained eternity in every thinking person’s library of rational thought. Thank you sir for your honesty, courage and unfiltered lens.

The world is a far better place for having had Christopher Hitchens walking around on it for a while.

I have only recently discovered Mr. Hitchens in the past few years. His writings and razor sharp intellect have made me think more about the true appreciation of life, and what life really means, than anyone I’ve encountered. I will miss him deeply.

A very sad day for me, and unfortunate day for the world. He accomplished a lot, and would have accomplished a lot more.

The courage with which Hitchens battled the Theists is to be truly admired. He was witty, fearless, and courageous. He will be truly missed.

@callinshumen - I think the world just got a LOT dumber actually ![]()
I bought and toasted his passing with a bit of the Johnnie Walker Black tonight - a little of Hitch’s preferred drink.
No doubt a few of his adversaries are breathing a sigh of relief at the fact that they’ll never have to face him in live debate again…

To quote Christopher: »Fuck that!»
But we’ll struggle on in his spirit, trying to better this world full of bigots, morons, and ignorants. There still is hope. Even if maybe some of us need to cane in a little less and consider quitting them cigarettes ...
Thanks for the hint, Hitch!, I shout into the Nothingness. You shall be our role model in every other respect.

I can’t even find the words. This is a profound loss for me personally.
Hitch’s brilliant writing, along with Sam’s and Richard’s, gave me the courage to finally, and completely, leave faith and my fundamentalist upbringing behind and to live through reason and with integrity. That alone is a debt I can only make the feeblest attempt to repay.
Sleep well, good sir. You will be missed.

We who must now continue the fight for intellectual rigor, integrity and accountability, and rational discourse have a harder job without Hitch! Here is the obit that I posted on my blog yesterday. http://wp.me/p1I5vv-4M

It’s a huge loss to those of us who treasured the lethal combination of his intellect and wit and his obvious pleasure in using both to knock down religion.
Vale Christopher.

Missing you already, blue eyes. Thank you for showing us the way and giving us the courage to do you proud; I certainly will follow your shining example and be unafraid to oppose hypocrisy, ignorance and barbarism that you so despised.

It is a shame that he couldn’t have hung on for a bit longer to share some thoughts on the passing of the Dear Leader, Kim Jong Il.
