I’m sure its just my ignorance but I would like to know how these polls work.  I have never once been “polled” ever in my entire life. Who is being asked the questions?

For a reliable survey like this, with around a 3% margin of error only around 1000 people need to be polled.
for a phone survey numbers may be created by taking random numbers in a number range known to be assigned to live subscribers.

54% among the general population and 70% in the 18-29 age group. Take heart, fellow freethinkers. We are making progress (just a little behind those whose faith/culture/leaders direct them to fly planes into buildings)
