What are we to do with individuals who mindsets have been twisted like this?  Is it just too late to rehabilitate them?  The frightening point is that we could easily pass many on our streets who have similar thoughts.  The immense ignorance that leads to their actions is only outweighed by the horror of its consequences

If I’m reading Sam Harris’ work correctly, we can all do our part by questioning loudly and publicly the sort of crazy beliefs driving guys like this.

I’d start by asking the suicide bomber to produce Allah, right there, on the spot, so we can ask him what he thinks about all this.

I’d ask him why he doesn’t trust in the power of Allah to vanquish the enemies of Islam—and why he seems to always pick fools like himself for the job.

I’d ask him why his Iman volunteered him—obviously the Iman thinks he’s a fool.  Or, at least, expendable.

I’d ask him if he’s dumber than the shoe-bomber—after all, it takes a complete idiot NOT to successfully execute a suicide bombing.

What we need to do is ridicule the pretensions that he’s under until no one can take his ideas seriously.

This video reminds me of the witch paradox. If a witch does not drown then she is a witch and if she does drown then she is not a witch. These sort of paradoxes are exceedingly destructive on all counts. Faith has this power of having a reasonless state of undefined change which allows mental slavery to flourish.

This shockingly shows the malleability of the brain and the power of early indoctrination.  It is frightening.
