“But there is an explanation for the natural world whether we like it or not.”

This is theory being presented as fact or truth by a materialist.

We know so little about the natural world but then make statements like that. That is not science but paradigms in action. Maybe even paradigm paralysis in action.

Materialism can be as much of a religion as religious fundamentalism.

As far as the word God it has so much baggage the word should not even be used at a conference on science and religion. Both materialists and the religious are too busy presenting their facts to truly understand the scientific method.

Scientism is alive and well in the world. Materialism and darwinsim and religion have had a profound impact on the world. What is capitalism but survival of the fittest. Most religious folks are more about darwinism than religious.

One must stand outside of materialism, scientism, and religion to even begin to understand how these three systems of beliefs are more alike than different.

Researcher,

I am close to giving up trying to discuss with you. You post then RUN…..

Every suggestion is theory, we then start building up what we can to see what specifically adds to any idea. After this process we end up with some ideas ahead of others.

Any attempt to circumvent this process ultimately betrays it, betrays knowledge and betrays anyone who is affected negatively by it.

I will be the first to admit it - The universe might not be completely material. Shock Horror. Of course it might not be. The materialism you refer to is childish and poor philosophy. Fortunately i do not recognise it in science, though you sir, sitting where you do, purportedly outside, staring at the sun and being blinded by it seem to see whatever you wish, and deny what you wish as well.

There seems little point approaching you any more with either philosophy or any evidence. You are close to even failing the Turing test; I am not even sure that i am not talking to a computer program, such is the level of each statement and absence of any reply.

Is it perhaps time for members of this forum to become suspicious that Researcher is some type of parody?

I say all this in as congenial a manner as i can, but i have seen so many questions not answered, including my own, that there is little else left to say. Please, stop running.

“Scientism?”

Science is merely a method. It’s not a religion, it’s a way of teasing truth from our environment, and it happens to be the ONLY method that has actually worked. Certainly religion hasn’t done anything to forward knowledge of our reality except when they unwittingly forayed into science.
