More than half of adults in a survey of 10 countries thought school science lessons should teach evolutionary theories alongside creationism. Among those who knew of Darwinism, on average 53% felt other possible perspectives should also be taught.

It is quite obvious from this survey 53% of adults in 10 countries are downright stupid. In fact I do not even need any survey to show me this. I see it every day around me. Evolution is a fact! The Theory of Evolution describes the facts which all stand up to Scientific scrutiny while no other theory does.

This sounds like a preacher holding up his bible and telling the folks what is fact. I.e. his book and his beliefs.

This comment supports my belief that atheism and religious fundamentalism have a lot in common.

Both think that those that those that don’t think like them are stupid or worst. At least the atheists don’t condemn those that don’t think like them to eternal hell just to eternal nothingness. I.e. two sides of the same coin. J

The atheists don’t have a clue they have turned their beliefs into a religion.

Do yourself a favor and read the preface and introduction of this book free on line. Second thought don’t bother it would do no good as the preacher and the atheist would find it disturbing and could not finish it. Too mentally painful.

Researcher - you are aware evolution is a fact, and someone stating it as such should be of no issue?

Saying atheism is a religion?  Since we’re suggesting reading material, how about a dictionary?

All this does is illustrate the incredible amount of ignorance there is in regards to Evolution around the world.  I’d be willing to bet my house that ALL of those asking to have “conflicting theories” taught, couldn’t even give a proper explanation for what the theory of evolution is.

I would argue that Evolution is a Science where Creationism is a philosophy.

If Creationism is permitted in the classrooms then why not Confucianism or Buddhism? I hear no advocates for those philosophies.

Scientifically speaking, evolution is a successful theory and creationism is a failed hypothesis. Creationism makes testable predictions that fail miserably when compared to empirical evidence.

Evolution is what happened, and continues to happen.

The theory seeks to explain HOW it happened, and is supported by 150 years of evidence.
