This says more about the state of our education system than any standardized test ever could.

Woot! Creationists no longer constitute a majority!  Now we just have to get that yellow past the ‘50’ mark.  Well ideally to encompass the whole spectrum, but one step at a time.

Sad, sad, sad - I fear the US religious flu may spread north to Canada if we’re not careful.

This is truly a sad statement about the U.S.A but not a surprising one.  We’ve (US government) only recently apologized for the African slave trade industry we supported for so long.  Hang in there folks…sometimes it takes baby steps before the U.S.A makes true change.  I think this forum is an excellent step forward!  Let’s keep dragging everyone else with us to the 50% or more group.

I made this video to help cope with creationist “reasoning” when visiting family in Montana:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxxlocTdeZU  None of my family has talked to me since posting it.  I guess it worked.

Why would anyone be surprised by this?  Frankly, I’m amazed we “beat” Turkey.  The truth is our education system is functional.  Its purpose is to produce employees, good workers.  Yes, that includes the secondary and even the post-graduate system and our precious Ivy League universities.  Independent thinkers are an accidental by-product of that system.  Truly educated citizens are difficult to manage.

I would love to see Brazil in that chart. Religious disease is so strong here that the majority of studies conducted to address the people with a survey like that is never available. Atheists and agnostics here are just too lazy to stand up. But they do exist.

In France no religion is taught in school, despite it being a Catholic country and I’m sure that this separation of state and religion encourages free thought and anyone not being lied to from a young age will surely emerge atheist and the richer for it
