Carin,
Prayer is talking to a magical, wish-granting, imaginary friend.
You’re lying to us and yourself.
What, for instance, would you say if I told you that prayer was developing a relationship with the fairy at the bottom of my garden? You’ve got no more reason to believe your statement than anybody has to believe that one. The fairy at the bottom of my garden is an imaginary entity until one can justify that the fairy at the bottom of my garden is real. Until you can justify that God is real, I’m afraid you’re really just a victim of special pleading, wishful thinking…self deception.
Carry on or break the spell.

There is nobody to take care of the rest if we don’t take care of it.

“Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer.” ~Unknown
Looking back through history, prayer hasn’t seemed to work in our favor. So get off your knees, unclasp your hands, and get to work people! ![]()
What do the believers say when prayer doesn’t work?
They say, well, it must not be God’s will.
So if God’s will is going to be done anyway, what’s the point of prayer?

Wow. What an unfortunate misunderstanding of the discipline of prayer. Prayer is not a substitute for work; it is developing a relationship with God to inspire and motivate one to work harder and to trust God to take care of the rest.
