“Science makes no assumptions on faith. It analyzes observations by applying certain methodological rules and formulates models to describe those observations. It justifies that process by it’s practical success, not by any logical deduction derived from dubious metaphysical assumptions. We must distinguish faith from trust. Science has earned our trust by its proven success. Religion has destroyed our trust by its repeated failure.”

Victor Stenger

Important comments. We trust science because it has a ‘method’ If we are skeptics and critical thinkers we distrust religion because it has no method. Only faith. Only belief. Only cognitive bias.

There is no filter for things accepted on ‘faith’

This is why Science is not a religion and not a belief system.

Definition of Faith: believing in something without proof, or any history of reliability or factual evidence
Definition of Trust: believing in something based on a reliable source, or history of being proven

....do I have ‘Enlightenment’?
