Why did God wait 48,000 years before sending Jesus?

4.  He didn’t.  The Earth is only 6,000 years old….

Was it Sam Harris who pointed out that people were making beer on the same day they were created?

The crucifixion was not a requirement of God. It was man’s response to Jesus.  Just like man’s response to Lincoln, Gandhi, MLK, and the Kennedy’s was to kill them.

Man’s response? Do they teach in bible class in between contracts and civ pro at Texas law schools?

No, it’s assumed in Texas that everyone who goes to any institution of higher learning is already a biblical scholar, so no additional classes are needed.

Well there’s the problem right there. “Texas higher learning institution” is an oxymoron.

Biblical scholar would appreciate that an omnipotent, omniscient god would know and intend that jesus would be crucified.

What’s is this, blanket generalization day? Did I miss the memo? You can’t simplify the death of Lincoln, Gandhi, MLK, the Kennedy’s and all our “prophets” and positive icons to results stemming from your warped sense of the human condition and inaction thereof. If that’s not what you meant, I apologize. If it is, grow the fuck up, hippie. You’re overlooking so many unrealated and distinct biopsychosocial spiritual cultural variables spread across generations of social and behavioral progression.

What a kneeJERK response.

Suggest you either not speak to me that way again or you can fuck off. How about that?

Note that attacks (as opposed to good-natured ribbing further above) often elicit anger and break the flow of threads.  If you disagree, could you just say it straight without insults added?

And hey, watch out dissing hippies around here.

Ugh yeah. Saying I know is cliche. Saying I’ll do it is routine. So let me just apologize to dust and shut up the hell up.

For now, dun dun dunnnnn!!!

Jobyrne,

Earlier today I posted to another string and made some rather rude remark to someone (from all the way back in October evidently!) who had posted what was meant to be a jest. Jumping to conclusions as I am sometimes apt to do, I used the words “ignorant” and “arrogant” to describe the statement the contributer had made.  It was doubly embarrassing to realize that my ass was showing because I had just called you out for showing yours.

Now that both our pants are down, I want to know who everyone thinks has the sexier ass.

Dust,

My ass is frighteningly pale, so I will concede.

For the record, Rice is ranked 17th in the USA Today top 100.  We have several in there.
