I am on my annual Florida vacation and it has rained every day, and so I’ve been watching a lot more deal more TV than usual.  I would estimate that there is an anti-Obama campaign ad broadcast about once every hour throughout the entire day and evening on every channel.  I have yet to see one ad in support of Obama.  Maybe they’ve given up on O?  Not sure, but the economic crisis is pretty severe here.  Seems to me that the population is evenly divided, but I could be wrong.  C’mon Obama…stop collecting money and start spending it!

On a personal note, only one politcal fight broke out in my sister’s home.  Some people are visiting from England and mentioned they admired Obama and my brother-in-law went berserk.  I thought his head would explode.  When he left the room, the rest of us explained that he is a tad mentally ill.

What part of Florida? It’s rained off and on in the Tampa Bay area but nothing seasonal so far. I think it’s rained heavier to the north. Hot and humid as hell, ain’t it? I’m seeing several Obama ads in my area, probably on a par with the opposition, maybe more. We’ve turned into basically a red state but you’ll find corridors of mostly either red or blue.

I am in Sebastion, which is near Vero Beach.  It is a pastel hell here.  The rain comes and goes, but mostly comes. I’m enjoying myself, though.

Thanks for the reminder of why I don’t watch TV and live in my rose colored bubble of a liberal bastion in the bay area.

You’re almost directly across the state from me about 136 miles away. Too bad I’m broke and my car is junk, I’d drive over to meet you for a drink. I didn’t see that storm over us until tonight, I don’t precisely keep up with the weather news either. Sorry, looks like your entire vacation is going to be dreary and wet, the whole state is covered with clouds. Lately here it’s been a couple of days of scattered showers with intermittent days of sunshine. Now the gulf looks like it’s churning up early seasonal storms. I hope you do have enough sunshine for a part of your visit, though. Oh well, have a cuban sandwich, devil crab, and some cafe con leche. If you want the best though, you have to come to Tampa. We just beat out Miami in a head to head best cuban sandwich contest.
