Better, Nick, better.  At least a slight beginning to some humor.  Keep trying.

About the only thing that one should take seriously on this forum is to enjoy interacting with others.  Educating them or being educated by them, may happen, but better for that goal to go to school. It is also useful to be able to laugh at oneself as readily as at others.

Nick: Jane Curtin? Was she a Bond Girl or more like Nancy Pelosi?

She was on Saturday Night Live in the days when it was funny.

You can discuss the freedoms America was founded upon for example but they can only be sustained through a quality of energy that invites the experience of knowledge which furthers the human perspective necessary to sustain freedom

Can anyone translate this for me?  AKA woo?

Dense and foggy but can be unpacked: you can talk about freedom all you want, but if you don’t embody the spirit of freedom you’re pissing into the wind.  Or, to quote a famous philosopher: “If somebody says ‘I am free’ and has not achieved the state of Moksha, the complete liberation, they are talking nonsense.”

I always associate my ideas with others far more brilliant than either of us. All these people past and present have an attitude and perspective that is similar in its effect to the affect of a red flag on a bull.

Actually, it isn’t the red that does the job, it’s the motion.

Dennis: You;re right, John, I’m just too damned obsessive about word and sentence meanings.  IOW BS is BS no matter how many pretty words are strung together.  I did get a momentary warm fuzzy feeling.  Sara must’ve been quite excited.

If this were twenty ....er….thirty years ago, I’d be quivering with excitement over Nick’s posts.  I’d fall in love with him and we would sip claret and read aloud to each other from Simone Weil’s journals.

But, alas, now that I am in emotional denial, warm and fuzzy words bounce off my closed mind and my armored heart and drift off into the Universe, . merging with the music of the spheres, whilst I remain below rockin’ and rollin’ to hard beats and dirty lyrics.    Er….I mean, hard beets and dirty laundry.

In short Sara, you’re an idiot in Plato’s cave. A man doesn’t tell a woman that if he’s trying to get her pants off. Yet for all those interested in the foundation from which undersanding begins it is necessary to experience.

Removal of foundational garments is a first step to the promised land but it’s no help for those who can’t stand up and take the heat.  I’ve known this since my days of painting horse images in cave walls in Southern France.

This cave isn’t big enough for both of us, buddy.  Get out, simper into some other broad’s ear.  I’ve had enough of your crap.

Why, my goodness sake!  Sara, have you finally made a decision?!  I’m happily shocked.

That would mean all we would have to do is convince Burt not to engage. I know that guy likes to redline with woo/no woo, but I’m hoping he’s as underwhelmed by and over NA as the rest of us.

My one failing in an otherwise perfect personality is that I can’t resist a straight line.  And Nick provides so many of them.

This is quite a statement to come from someone like Dennis. As everyone knows, there are no straight lines in nature. It’s mechanics are designed so that everything turns in circles including human will. Dennis is suggesting that I am able to create a straight line that he can psychologically grasp and not just turn in circles through argument as is the norm. That is quite a compliment. I am humbled.

Glad you pointed that out Burt, I thought he was just making shit up ...

So NA has returned, Narcotic Anonymous, hiding his drug of woo within his tongue twisting flap doodle….makes a change from the Bowel Movements of BM, but obvious from this thread still a chew toy nonetheless.

So, Nick_A is back. Well, well, well. Seems we’re in luck.

Nick’s not back.  He just wanted to tell us how much cooler his new friends are than us.

Either that was step 1 of MANY, or he really just wanted let us know that he’s content elsewhere? I’m going with the former.

Martin, you do not have the wit, education, or intelligence to “chew” on anyone’s post. Why don’t you tell us about how your great mind was developed through study, research, and education.

Rob, you are about as “enlightened” as a 21 year old on a party drug.

saralynn, you come along for the ride no matter who’s back seat you get fondled in.

burt, stop talking about humility, for you are a prisoner of personal opinion beyond anything healthy or normal.

oh, and, Dennis…who can believe you now, i.e., after you announce your leaving but do not have the discipline or humility to do so. Go away already.

More talk, same lack of substance. I’m what you might call hyper-vigilant to manipulation, and I perceive you as manipulative no matter how deescalated you appear right now. At the same time, I’m not going to recycle what I’ve already conveyed. We all know where that leads. However, if by some stretch of my imagination you actually gain traction with a straggler on PR, I’m going to emotionally deny all over your baseless claims.

People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use.—Soren Kierkegaard

This is the trouble with people like Joby who have become so possessed by emotional denial that they’ve lost their capacity for reason.but instead have become obsessed with an acquired subjective conception of right and wrong. They become the envy of bigots everywhere.

So much suffering continues in the world because of this apparently normal mindset for Plato’s cave. How much racial bigotry for example results from this mindset that knows the manipulative mindset of these people of a different color. No matter. They will be destroyed through emotional denial.

Scary stuff but it is largely the way of what Jesus called the “world.” From this perspective it cannot be surprising that Jesus said in John 15:

18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

The World as an expression of the collective mindset and opinions of fallen man must hate the light of consciousness offering the illumination necessary to become more realistic in its grasp of “knowledge.”  Nothing serves the desire to shut out the light in order to protect misguided self justification better than emotional denial.

Joby has proven himself extremely proficient at exercising this ability.

Mario: saralynn, you come along for the ride no matter who’s back seat you get fondled in.

That was pretty funny, Mario.  Mean-spirited, as usual, but it made me chuckle.

What you don’t understand is that I don’t enjoy the fondling as much as I like the ride.  I prefer looking out the window, as the driver points out this and that.
