This means of evolving complex molecular machines—duplication followed by specialization—had been proposed previously, but it was difficult to generate this sort of direct, biological test of the model. The ability to resurrect ancient proteins has changed that, and I expect we’ll be hearing more about how evolution has assembled these machines.
Interesting. Thanks, burt. I expect we’ll be hearing more of the same from IDers too (ie, “It’s so complex it must have been ...”). I wonder when we get to the point of being able to “create” life will they finally dub us God and be done with it.
It’s satisfying to see, just because we previously couldn’t generate a test for the proposed model, didn’t mean a win for the IDers, it just needed time and good science.

IDer’s can’t win, all they can do is sit back and watch and wait. They’ll never find God, whether they’re looking for Him through a microscope or a telescope.

Your right Ans, we just need to explain it to the IDers, they like to see anything unknown as unknowable and divine in origin.
The “whole universe proclaims the glory of the Lord”.
Bruce, you’re wrong. An enlightened mind sees God often and profoundly. You like to tell of your travels, I think. Why don’t you take a trip to the Vatican observatory and have a talk with those guys over there? Get out of your Protestant home town and see the world. You do want to please the Lord with you words, too, don’t you? Or just other people? Can’t serve both all of the time. And you may be simply serving yourself by bending over backwards trying to reconcile your faith in God with a world full of people bent upon keeping God hidden.
