Welcome back samy, I was beginning to miss you.  Nevertheless, I won’t be attending any of these talks, too far from where I live on top of my opinion that they are all spouting nonsense.  The point, if one is religious, is not to deny what science has demonstrated but rather to accept it and find a way to understand it.  As I’ve said before, I know some very devout Christians and Muslims who have no trouble at all accepting evolution.

Thanks Burt, it was too kind of you,
Yes you said, and I said too,
The westerners have a psychological barrier against religion- and they have the full right to have. They suffered for long centauries from the worst control ever happen by the church and the priests, which was against civilization, science and the very basic human rights.
And so, they fled away from all religions. While they forget every thing they have been taught by the church, but not what it was telling about Islam. What the old biased orienelists said about the Moslems.
Yes some of us, for the now a days Moslems, supports the bad idea about Islam. So I like any fair one to take the Islam principles from it’s original sources.
for me, if the Quran supports science or the science supports the science, doesn’t matter, both belongs to the creator. what the scientists (from all sects) are tring to do, is to discover how amazing the creation is, and how powerless we are.

Thanks again and have a great day/night

What a joke!

There is no “bad side” of Islam, it’s all bad.

Case in point, claiming that if your magic book supports science you’ll accept it because it came from the creator. And to add insult to injury you say that while promoting a list of talks against science.

Hi Samy.  Have fun learning about Islam, which may be the one true religion if God exists.

You never give up, do you, Samy?

I read something that enlightened me in regard to the way Westerners think as opposed to Middle Easterners or other ethnic groups.  Westerners always emphasize individual freedom, while people from other countries emphasize social cohesion.  That is one reason why you are so puzzling to us and we are so puzzling to you.  From the social cohesion viewpoint, whipping adulterers makes sense because it endangers society, while to us, it is simply barbaric.  Same with religion.  Christianity has evolved into a personal religion in many ways…it’s all about the individuals’ personal relationship with Jesus.  In Islam, it is all about obeying laws and again…reinforcing social cohesion.

Thinking about this made me a little more tolerant, although I still remain impatient with tribal thinking, superstitions, and absence of objectivity. This applies to Christians as well as Muslims.  As I say over and over again, unless religions evolve into a more mature form of faith, they will cease to exist.  Sounds impossible, I know, because the times we live in are all that we have experienced, but life will be very different for our children and their children when the beliefs we hold so dear are looked at historically.

Well Adnan Oktar, AKA Harun Yahya, is a proven fraud, holocaust denialist, and conspiracy theorist who’s been largely dismissed by the global scientific community.

The only people who would really want to go to these events, and who would enjoy them, are people who are already muslim-creationists.  Possibly a few critics who want to write articles about how ridiculous the talks are.

I certainly wouldn’t waste time or money attending one of these presentations.

“I think when people look back at our time, they will be amazed at one thing more than any other.  It is this—that we do know more about ourselves now than people did in the past.  But that very little of it has been put into effect.  There has been this great explosion of information about ourselves.  The information is the result of mankind’s still infant ability to look at itself objectively.  It concerns our behavior patterns.  The sciences in question are sometimes balled the behavioral sciences and are about how we function in groups and as individuals, not about how we like to think we behave and function, which is often very flattering.  But about how we can be observed to be behaving when observed as dispassionately as when we observe the behavior of other species.  These social or behavioral sciences are precisely the result of our capacity to be detached and unflattering about ourselves.  There is this great mass of new information from universities, research institutions and from gifted amateurs, but our ways of governing ourselves haven’t changed.  Our left hand does not know—does not want to know—what our right hand is doing.  This is what I think is the most extraordinary thing there is to be seen about us, as a species, now.  And people to come will marvel at it, as we marvel at the blindness and inflexibility of our ancestors.”  Doris Lessing, Prisons We Choose to Live Inside, pp. 12-13.

Here is a message from someone who “actually” knows both sides.

You are not that different from Samy. Though he appears tolerant, hardly a representation of his side. You both represent intolerant sides. That much is a documented fact. You both call the oppositionists names. His side calls them kuffar, infidels; your side calls them something phobic ;xenophobic, Islamophobic; homophobic; racist; sexist; etc. It all amounts to the same thing. Inability to sustain a rational thought and quickly take refuge in name calling.

Your side also resort to violence to achieve its goals.  That is a historical fact. Same as Muslims.

So next time when you say you dont appreciate promotion of the other side, think again.

The Fact of Creation

have a nice day/night

Samy, there are no miracles in Quran. If there were, Muhammad would have pointed out instead of saying, he is only a man, can’t perform miracles. You should also know that Harun Yahya (known as Adnan Oktar in his Country) is discredited in Turkey.  He was for a time, confined to a prison clinic, and then Bakirkoy Mental Hospital, where he was diagnosed with an obsessive-compulsive personality disorder and schizophrenia. It seems, the crazier the people are in religion, more they are revered.

By the way, it is also true in Christianity.  Many christian ministers have been exposed, discredited, some caught with prostitutes, some caught stealing money from their churches, etc… by their followers dont really care. They just want to believe and nothing will stop them. Same is true with Harun Yahya.

Reasonable analysis. Perhaps, if you focus on the bold text, you may understand why some of us who know and appreciate that have such disdain for the socialism or communism.

Well there’s the pot calling the kettle black. Your thought processes today are founded in fundamentalist Muslim thought, only by a different name. I see you’ve copy-catted some terminology you picked-up from your twin on the other thread, and you’re dying to use it even if not in correct context. You think you’ve reached some rational road by running away from your past, but the idiot that you are, you’ve only managed to run in the same direction. You’re like Charlie Tuna trying to get picked-up by the boat of good taste, all the while not realizing that you’re not only lacking in good taste, you don’t even taste good.

My apologies to Samy for the comparison. You actually make less sense and are less coherent.

“pot calling the kettle black.”

” Your thought processes today are founded in fundamentalist Muslim thought”,

“I see you’ve copy-catted some terminology you picked-up from your twin on the other thread,”

” You think you’ve reached some rational road by running away from your past, but the idiot that you are, you’ve only managed to run in the same direction. “

“You’re like Charlie Tuna trying to get picked-up by the boat of good taste, all the while not realizing that you’re not only lacking in good taste, you don’t even taste good”

Not a single sentence close to resembling a rational thought.
