I don’t think it is a joke for samy. When talking about evolution he mentioned that humans living near water might “develop” scales so that they could swim more efficiently and these scaly-humans would then become a dominant new species. And he didn’t mean that the scales would develop over millions of years but almost like magic over night. This is seriously the level of his understanding I believe. With thoughts like that floating around in his confused brain it’s no wonder he is having trouble trying to comprehend the science of evolution!
On the other hand Poldano if it was a joke at least there would be some hope for the islammic world if just one person from their community in Egypt was able to have a laugh at the expense of a few serious-minded atheists in North America. That would really be funny!
I can replay that later, while for now,
Very true. It is no Joke!
Samy has been brought up to believe Women are “deficient in intelligence” because his Prophet said so in the Hadiths which Muslims revere as it documents the example of Muhammad.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 24, Number 541:
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri
“I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you” ... referring to Women.
1st some of the Islamic scholar tells it was just a joke. It was at the feast day, and while the prophet was giving an important speech, the women were quarrelling in the food stuff,
While if it wasn’t a joke,
It’s not deficient, but “lesser” in Arabic “ناقصات”
That’s exactly what we reached few hours ago, the men have some more physical and mental advantages.
The Moslem women don’t have to perform the Islamic worshipping activities 30 days a month, but 25-26 due to the mints vacation. So it’s some thing about the quantity not the quality. So it’s not there problem.
It is the reason why there are 40 or so misogynistic verses in their holy book. It is why in Islam, Women’s testimony is worth half that of man?
”... get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women...” Quran 2:282
and also why Women’s rights to inheritance and testimony are half (Quran 4:11-12) that of Men.
while the women have more emotional sensitivity, i can see that point is an advantage. if your testimony may result in punishing some one do you like to do it alone or to have a helper to be more sure about every thing. i think that will release some of the internal stress

“Women have more emotional sensitivity.” Samy loves to make broad generalizations.
I believe there are very emotional male poets in both Muslim and Western cultures. However, women are expected to express their emotions more openly; men to hide them. This is true in both cultures. In Western culture, there is much talk about men expressing their feelings. Look at Dr. Phil; look at Emo song-writing; look at Men of a Certain Age (or does anyone watch that show?). But the roles are still evolving.
Western culture had behavioral strictures not so different from moderate Muslim culture, and not that many years ago. A “nice” woman would not be alone with a man. Women were restricted from many careers. US juries did not include women until the 2nd half of the 20th century! Lawsuits about sex discrimination in the workplace are common.
I think Muslim cultures will slowly change as well.
Samy:
Can zen, if we have agreed there are differences, and each sex have a relative advantages, can we mention the main career categories that best meet with these advantages.
There are differences, but there is overlap. As I said before, some women are strong enough to be fire fighters. Should we prohibit all women from being fire fighters because the average woman is not as strong? Why do we have to have “categories”? Can’t each individual just find what is best for him/herself?
Back in the late 80s I was interested in the question of gender related differences in mathematical ability. I developed an argument in a series of steps taking one from, perhaps, the way sami sees it and developing further.
1. Girls can’t do math. (Junior High)
2. Well, some girls can do math but statistically girls overall are not as good at math as guys.
3. Some girls, however, are excellent at math so one ought not prejudice their education.
4. If we examine existing research on gender related cognitive differences we find:
a. males tend to do better at mechanical and spatial tasks
b. females tend to do better at verbal tasks
c. there is evidence that some of these differences have to do with the effect of testosterone on the developing brain
5. There are valid arguments in favor of the conclusion that a good deal of gender differences in math are cultural (but not all).
6. Perhaps we need to turn the question around: what is it about math that would lead males to statistically do better than females?
7. Historically, for cultural/social reasons, mathematics has been developed almost entirely by men.
a. Therefore, if there are gender based cognitive differences relevant to math, it is reasonable to expect that math would be
biased in favor of those cognitive skills at which men tend to excel.
b. This suggests that there may be entire areas of mathematics that have not been developed because they involve more of
the cognitive skills at which women tend to excel.
8. In any case, all of these differences are exceptionally small statistically, but a small effect can be culturally magnified.

I once had an Egyptian co-worker who had been forced out of Egypt because he made a joke about Nasser. He was a professor of English in Egypt but could only qualify for clerical staff positions in the U.S. Here’s the joke.
Nasser’s wife was riding in a taxicab to a meeting. The cab driver turned around and asked her, “Does you husband screw you?” Mrs. Nasser was quite taken aback and, not sure if she had heard correctly, said “I’m sorry, I don’t think I heard you right.” The cab driver repeated, “Does your husband screw you?” Mrs. Nasser, certain now she had heard correctly, but not knowing quite how to answer, asked “What do you mean?” The cab driver responded, “Married men usually screw their wives. I just wanted to know if Nasser was like other married men. So, does he screw you like most married men screw their wives?” Mrs. Nasser, embarrassed but confident that this was just a rather rude cab driver making conversation, replied, “Yes, he does.” The cab driver then responded, “We have a lot in common, then, because he screws us too.”
This would have been considered a slightly risque but otherwise not very notable joke in the U.S. at the time, if used with reference to a U.S. chief executive.
I don’t quite know what I’m trying to say here, but I do know that I will forever find it difficult to get along with anyone, or any culture, that doesn’t have a sense of humor about himself or herself or itself.

Regarding, the false wares that US involved in, the economical crises, the house shelter crises, and some more few crises that you suffered after G.W. Push. I think you can say the same about him too!!!!!
G.W. Push s….. up most of the US citizens, do you see it likethat, correct me!
With a small difference, that what you had was in the open skies and ultimate democratic periods!!!!!!!!!!
You are putting the words in my mouth, I’m still collecting the info, just help me in that for now,
we didn’t reach that quistion yet, What could be the best system in the family that can make the best use of both the male and female relative advantages? To have the ultimate goal in life of the “more happy, successful and integrating family can have?
The women have some relative advantages too,
cares more about details,
have more patience,
loves the kids too much,
like to cook too much,
have more sensitive emotions,
…………..
……………
she experiences the menstruate once a month for 4-5 days, where here mode will be lower, while may suffer some pains and feel tired.
For the man kind continuity, the women have to be pregnant for 9 months, begets children, suckling the children for 2 years.
What are the favorite toys that the male/female kids like to play with?
What are the favorite colors for both?
Is that can give any indications about the there behavior and interests?
Do the prominent culture and education way can change the nature and basic instinct of the children?
Do the westerner women feel good when she knew that her husband/partner have another 16 partners?
And if that changes by time, I mean if she is a high school girl and knew that about her boyfriend?
If she is 1 year married woman?
If she is 5/10/20/30 years married woman, the look to such subject will change?
Do there still any westerner women whom like/prefer/think it would be better if their husbands/partners don’t have sex out of marriage? What is the percentage?
The differentiation between people not by shape , wealth, color, nationality, education level, ………, while it have to be by their good deeds, how he/she scarifies for the others, in fact it’s some thing in the heart. is that right?
My wife scarifies me sometimes.
sorry, is it Scarifies for you or scarifies by you ?
if it’s the first, then you have to replay with the same. you have to reward here
while if it’s the second, i advise you to escape. big escape, man

that will be more clear when we reach the end, the Islamic preferred model of family and society.
while i still can’t see that it’s a very great honor, if the man testimony will result in the killing of a man, while the woman will have another helper woman to do so. i still think it’s a great advantage for the women.
i my self hope that my testimony worth no thing at these situations

Samy, he is joking with you. “Scarifies” means to injure by cutting and making scars. You meant to write “sacrifice.”
Poldano:
The cab driver then responded, “We have a lot in common, then, because he screws us too.”

Samy, Poldano was saying that people do joke this way about American presidents. Criticism of the government is a common topic of US comedians and a nightly topic on the news programs. I think his point was that the Egyptian government did not tolerate this type of comment, and so the professor who made the joke was fired.
Believe me, many many people in the US also oppose the war policies of their government. Part of the reason Mr. Obama was elected was that he talked about ending the wars sooner in his campaign, and we are disappointed that the pull-out has been slower than expected.
I think you will find that your stereotypes of Americans do not hold true for all of us. Just as the stereotype of Muslims also does not hold for all. The conflict in this thread arises because you seem to keep wanting to generalize for all women or all men. And you justify this by saying that God has set up the structure, and that it is natural and holy for people to play these roles.
However, we are just trying to tell you that we see reality differently. Our culture is comfortable with more overlap of roles among men and women. And we value people being able to make choices. Even those who believe in God in the US feel that God gave each person unique talents, and he or she should be able to develop these.

hahaha, thanks for the explanation. Just a spilling mistake, and you will suffer a lot again. Check your patience!!!.
ohh, no big escapes!!!

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri
“I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence than you” ... referring to Women.
1st some of the Islamic scholar tells it was just a joke.
Samy, I have heard many excuses for your Prophet, but this is the first time I heard any Muslim confessed that Muhammad was a joke teller. By the way, here is another joke.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Apostle said, “If a husband calls his wife to his bed (i.e. to have sexual relation) and she refuses and causes him to sleep in anger, the angels will curse her till morning.” Sahih Bukhari 4:54:460
It is hilarious to think that the angels have nothing better to do than sit around and curse the poor woman all the night for depriving them from watching the live porno show. If Allah must punish woman for not satisfying the sexual needs of their husbands why does he need angels to lobby him for it?
Poldano:
The cab driver then responded, “We have a lot in common, then, because he screws us too.”
This would have been considered a slightly risque but otherwise not very notable joke in the U.S. at the time, if used with reference to a U.S. chief executive

i got it, although such jokes wasn’t allowed in the sixties in most of the world countries, but it’s being encouraged now by the regimes since it releases some of the people stress. The Egyptians had tones of these about the former president “Hosni Mubarak” and his sons.
The Egyptian pre-minister fled to the president telling him “sir, help me!! Your son wanted a flat in Alexandria and a flat in Aswan”, the president replayed in anger ” only two flats, then where is the problem?” the man replied in sorrow ” the problem that he wanted to connect them together!!!!”
Map key; Alexandria is in the far north of Egypt while Aswan in the far south of Egypt.
Believe me, many many people in the US also oppose the war policies of their government. Part of the reason Mr. Obama was elected was that he talked about ending the wars sooner in his campaign, and we are disappointed that the pull-out has been slower than expected.
In fact that is a mystery for me!!! If the majority of the people oppose the war, why they can’t stop it? i mean what is democracy point of view here?
While if the majority don’t oppose it, then the American people don’t care about the outer affairs or they are deceived by the media!!!
I think you will find that your stereotypes of Americans do not hold true for all of us. Just as the stereotype of Muslims also does not hold for all. if you just wait, and help me without pre-judging my intentions. We may reach good results.
We are not as bad as we suppose to be, while you aren’t so happy and good as you suppose to be. Even I think generally we are happier than others. If we understand the other, from his own point of view, and his own speech, not the media speech on his sake.
We have freedom more than what you think, while you have freedom more than what you need that may lead you to the unknown.
Have a nice day
