Hi, excellent place for like minded to discuss things that make difference.

A group of activists are working on making a movie. It is a movie about Muhammad and based on Ali Sina’s book understanding Muhammad. Recently we sat down together and discussed about it. Due to its controvertial topic, we got funding. But how much money studio is gonna invest in it is all depends upon the final scrip that sina will send us.

This movie is going to show the real story, a well research story will all the required refrences. This story is also going to show how muhammad’s crime affected people. What actually happened and how people were treated. And what is the root cause of the terrorism we see. All I know is that it is going to create a hell lot of controversy.

About 2 years ago, an activist from Ali’s website created a comic in Indonesian and posted it. In two days it was featured in indonasian news. as you can guess few people protested against it

here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyqr4IWXKR4

We took it very seriously and released a whole comic book and made a trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj3p-hq8kFE

it is a serious subject.

Some ideas and opinions are what we need right now. How can we deal with the controversy and how can we make it more interesting. The mos important thing is to get our message out there. The main producers and Ali is not religious, most of us are atheist. We need to make sure we don’t show anything that isn’t accurate. How can we let people know that we show that the story is genuine?

A few things you might want to ponder.

1. Who will be the target audience for your movie? Demographics and the whole nine yards.
2. Why would a Muslim want to see a film directed by “American atheists”? Think about these two terms..seriously. If not American, then you can take that one out.
3. What kind of films do Muslims, in general, like to watch that they can identify with? Ever watch any Bollywood films? Iranian films?
4. The release of that trailer in a comic form is a bad PR for your film, in concept, context, format and from what I’ve seen.

I strongly suggest you watch some Iranian films, then start with epic Bollywood films like Jodhaa Akbar. Don’t forget, you are a “foreigner” in this subject matter from the view points of the Muslim world, let alone the “man”. That is all i will say for now.

“Don’t think, feel. It is like the finger pointing a way to the moon. Don’t concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that Heavenly glory. Now, do you understand.” - Bruce Li Siu Long

Fixation upon objects arises agitation of the mind. A desired mind is a burdened mind.
Agitation of the mind arises discriminated views. It must be this or that.
Discriminated views arises ignorance and delusions. Blinded by this and that, the path in between is unclear.
