The developers are seeking state tax incentives under the Kentucky Tourism Development Act, which allows up to 25 percent of the cost of a project to be recovered, Courier-Journal said.

Now this pisses me off, to see them clawing money back from tax payers….Grrrr!

Here’s the last part of that article:

The Ark Encounter is quite a project: it will include a full-sized wooden ark, a “walled city much like what was found in ancient times, a replica of the Tower of Babel with exhibits, a first-century Middle Eastern village” and even outdoor parking.

I’m really thrilled about that “outdoor parking” concept!  Who’d ever have thought of such a thing, especially in Kentucky!  BTW, they’re really mixing up those “historical events” in a mishmash sort of way, but in keeping with the biblical theme, who cares about chronology!

Didn’t all first-century Middle Eastern villages have outdoor parking, the tower of Babel with exhibits sounds good too, hope it’s got a lift as that many stairs can be really bothersome.

I’m sorry fellow people but I am not laughing in the slightest. As Sam Harris has said on multiple occasions we are literally building a nation of ignorance. This park is not going to be presented as something fictitious akin to Disney Land; this is going to be a park that will fester and rot out the intellectual integrity of children. They will literally see the ark and become enraptured by it. How will this effect the future I don’t know, but it can’t be beneficial. And we are doing for this money? Shame on us. We are becoming a disgrace in the eyes of the modern world.

Lets revise that, Americans have already became a disgrace in the eyes of the modern world. They are just mostly too dumb to realize they are the laughing stock of the world for dimming down their population.

I’ll go if it has a Sodom and Gommorah exhibit.  A nearby pretzel stand may claim salt obtained from a pillar

Again, I’m almost ashamed of living in Kentucky.  I will say that atheist groups in the state (yes, we have some) are watching the situation closely to ensure that no tax dollars are used.

Might not be that easy to avoid Sciguy it seems…

“The developers are seeking state tax incentives under the Kentucky Tourism Development Act, which allows up to 25 percent of the cost of a project to be recovered, Courier-Journal said.

Atheist groups and church-state separation advocates noted that state involvement in the project may not appear to be right, but it does appear to be legal as state tax breaks are used to support tourism projects.”

Hey, I’d go if they kept it literally correct.

I wanna see 2 of every species of land animal (including all extinct species) crammed on the ark with realistic animatronics and sound effects.  Better than the Tiki Room in Disneyland!  Maybe they can have a flood akin to the one on the Universal Studios tour?  The Denver Aquarium has a cool simulated flood too.

I definitely wanna climb the Tower of Babel up into the clouds.  Way cool!

So comical how people don’t understand the idea of allegory when they are given so many examples through Jesus’s parables.  Ay yi yi!

Is it just a rumor that an expedition has been sent to Amazonia to round up one million beetle couples?  Also, hedgehogs have filed a complaint after learning that they are not to be included.  The contractor who got the job of building the stall for the Cape Buffalo is being sued because he didn’t make it strong enough.  As soon as the lions were brought on board the male Cape Buffalo went straight through the wall and ended up in the ape house.  This mayhem went viral.  After that the Bored of Regents decided to settle for wax figures.  So far, 30,098 beetles have been completed.  The wood-boring species are not to be included.

All too aware of the tax incentives, but what we are watching is to make sure no tax MONEY is given to them.  They can dodge paying some taxes, but the moment tax money is given to them, there will be law suits.

I understand completely, I too would be sickened at the thought of my own money making any contribution.
