Can we create, or think about, anything without prior, external input?

You boys continue to debate from the first premise that No one has experience of God, therefore such a concept is only in the mind.

But ‘god’ does have nothing to do with this thread. This thread is not about ‘god’. Whatever ‘god’ you’re actually referring to.

Sorry Mario, but god has never been seen outside of someone’s head or had a direct effect on anything outside of someone’s head, therefore it seems as if god only exists in the mind, sort of like Superman or Klingons. You are always welcome to supply evidence to the contrary however.

Can a man who’s been blind his whole life imagine red? Or clouds? I think that’s the rail we’re on.

Is this the rail we’re on?

Some science-minded Christians suppose that God created the big bang and then sat back to let nature play with it.  Presumably that’s why there are glitches.  (Nature isn’t perfect - God wouldn’t have made head lice, etc.)  So, we can create in that mode too.  Go out in the yard with a chainsaw, for example, fell a tree onto your neighbor’s house, then go back inside to watch TV.  Within minutes sirens are wailing outside, firemen are shouting, someone is ringing your doorbell.  You get up and go to answer the door.  A policeman.  “You rang?”

I mean, you created the whole scene without knowing what would happen.  No.  This isn’t it.  Missed again.  Is it the blind man not being able to imagine red?

I think so, except to the extreme.

I’m just wondering if we could have an original thought by ourselves, independently from all external input. It seems we can’t. Agreed?

This is the quote that lead me to that.
