Very interesting ideas.
When asked why some people do not believe in gods, he replies that this is largely due to greater intelligence and education in those individuals. 80% - 90% of Americans are believers in a religious god of some sort, whereas here in the U.K.  less than 40% believe in a god, less than half the USA number. This implies that there are twice as many intelligent, educated people here than in the USA, and that with such a small number of atheists (around 1.5%, and around 2.5% agnostics), American claims that they are the worlds most advanced nation is somewhat exaggerated, to say the least.
