Ok .. so we have a have a few interesting people challenging the religious views and with good reason. What is also clear is their desire to better understand who they are, in a context where what they have been told to date is not believable. The question of whether we evolved or were created is for me not so much of a bother, when you consider that evolution and creation actually converges if you go back far enough. Consider the possibility that everything in the universe has intelligence, down to the smallest conceivable unit of life or matter or energy. Now consider that the coming together of these intelligent units in different ways is what gives rise to the various forms of expressions as evidenced by the different things we see around us including humans.  So .. have we evolved, well .. yes we have and we are still evolving.  The other question is.. were we created; well.. yes we were .. but the interesting thing is that we are the ones responsible for our own creation. The more we evolve, the greater is our ability to control the rate and direction of our re-created selves. The ultimate goal being a subliminal desire to enter into a state of awareness, where we are able to express as one with everything thing else that is around us.  At the moment we seem to have a fixation on the past and how we got to where we are today.. (Evolution or creation).. This is all well and good but should not be at the expense of where we believe we are heading… Religion has given their opinions on this question, and although their conclusions are disappointing, at least they have said something.  The atheist have rightly rebutted these claims, but now need to enrich the conversation with opinions and thoughts of their own, as it relates to where they think we are heading.

‘All the dinosaurs were vegetarians’.

Bwahahahahahaha! Sure, all the teeth and claws and elaborate defence systems were just there for decoration. I think I actually heard somewhere that some creationists say the T-Rex’s teeth were used to crack nuts…  too funny:)

@JohnS “...evolution and creation actually converges if you go back far enough.”

What a load of crap! I could not read beyond that without groaning. Do you realise that your idea that the smallest units of matter or energy that make up the world have intelligence is Michael behe’s argument?

Michael Behe is the father of intelligent design and his ‘scientific theory’ has been proven wrong time and again. His theory (i believe) is called ‘irreducible complexity’ and published it in the 1990’s.

If I am not mistaken, the last scientific articles written refuting him conclusively- putting a nail in the coffin of his theory - were published in the early 2000’s.

There is no evidence for intelligence in infinitessimally small portions of matter and energy - and quite a lot of evidence to the contrary.
