I always take exception to these guys’ videos.  It’s not because they’re entirely untrue.  In fact, I agree with him 90% of the time.  However, his pseudo-formal tone doesn’t cover the fact that he’s extremely childish, and makes these videos primarily to confront people who believe in new age concepts.  And you know what?  You can attract more flies with honey than with vinegar- or so the saying goes.  He will not win anyone’s mind while he still holds this intense contempt, and keeps slinging poorly-guised insults at people.  He will only breed more contempt, and his videos will continue to be, well, no pun intended, but “preaching to the choir”.

Fantastic video!! I don’t get what Meh is going on about. I didn’t get any contempt in this video or any of the other ones I just checked out?!? He just sounds like a guy who cares about truth and people being good to each other. Far as I can see what he’s doing is tackling bullies. We need more people like him. He’s one of the good guys. Right on, Qualia Soup! smile

Re: Meh

The whole point of debate presentations such as these is not really to ‘convert’ those who hold similar beliefs, but to supply dialogue to discredit their beliefs publically so that other people will not listen to them. This is a triage approach to disspelling a poor idea: address the idea to the easily swayed in a simple and logical manner and therefore prevent broadscale support. This is much easier - and in a sense, fairer - then attempting to get at the source. Think about it: if the poor ideas presented are themselves illogical, then why would you assume that a person holding to these ideas would respond well to a logical rebuff?
