Ignorance is NOT bliss; hatred and discrimination spawn from ignorance. Sometimes I am absolutely amazed when I see progress in the world, because it seems like everywhere I go I run into morons like her parents.

Until I met a 40-something-year-old man last week who had never seen a tri-fold wallet in his life, and was forced to endure a blind date several years ago with a seemingly intelligent 30-something-year-old woman who didn’t know that the twinkling things in the night sky were stars (she thought they were “dust motes” or something), I never would have believed something like these Jewish parents was possible.
Now I believe it, and it is hilarious and nauseating at the same time.
